iOS Safari Browsers Thrash Android Browsers in HTML5 Processing

According to SpacePort [pdf], iPhone & iPad Safari mobile browsers consistently thrashed Android browsers in HTML5 image processing speed. Performance was measured by measuring the number of images that can be moved around the screen while maintaining 30 fps (frames per sec). “Movements” include CSS3′s 2D and 3D transforms as well as the use of HTML5 Canvas drawing. Opera Partners Telling Telecom (天音通信) to Develop Customized Mobile Browser for the Chinese Market

Seems like Opera has been pretty aggressive in growing their market recently. Soon after announcing the launch of their new cross-platform mobile app store – Opera Mobile Store, Opera has announced that it has entered into a joint venture with China’s Telling Telecom (天音通信) to develop and market a customized mobile browser for the Chinese market. While Opera brings with it the mobile browser technology and knowhow, Telling Telecom (天音通信) brings local content and its distribution network – ~18% market share of Chinese mobile-phone distribution industry – to the table.
