Visa has announced that they are launching a secure digital wallet system that would allow consumers to make online purchases with a single click, instead of having to manually type in information such as their credit card number and billing addresses – tasks that are especially frustrating on mobile devices (phones and tablets). In addition, this digital wallet would support mobile phone NFC (Near Field Communication) payments at retail point-of-sale terminals via PayWave.
Visa expects to launch the digital wallet in the U.S. and Canada in fall 2011.
