Google had previously announced the launch of an encrypted Google search, https://www.google.com. However, there were feedback from schools that were concerned that encrypted search may circumvent some school districts’ web filtering regulations. In response, Google have moved encrypted search from https://www.google.com to https://encrypted.google.com/
